The nominations have now closed for the 2012 Regional Building Excellence Awards. The nominations have been collated –thank you to all the participants for the hard work that has gone into making the entries. The shortlist can now be downloaded from the botton of this page.

Tickets are also on sale to all finalists, priced at £75 per head including VAT, on a first come first served basis. Tables can be reserved now by contacting Caroline, booking details and the booking form can also be downloaded from the bottom of the page. The black tie award dinner and presentation is to be held from 20:00 on the 18th May at The Nottingham Belfry Hotel.

Nominations have now closed for the 2011 Regional Building Excellence Awards. The nominations are now being collated and entrants will be contacted if any more information is required in time for the shortlisting process.

The shortlist will be available to view on the web-site towards the end of March. Tickets will then be on sale to all finalists, priced at £75 per head including VAT, on a first come first served basis. Tables can be reserved now by contacting Caroline at White Square Events. Nominations open for the East Midlands Awards

The LABC East Midlands Building Excellence Awards recognise and reward the best quality design construction and project management in the East Midlands. The quality stems from good design and an efficient design team, and is translated into quality buildings by an effective construction team. Throughout this process Local Authority Building Control monitors the quality of design and construction. The finalists will be acknowledged as amongst the best projects in the East Midlands.

Nominations can now be made by any member of the design and construction team, the building owner, or by the LABC Building Control Surveyors involved. Each entry must be approved by LABC and include an endorsement from the approving authority. If you have a project that you think is worthy of recognition, speak with your LABC surveyor and ask for their endorsement. There is no charge for entering. Nominations are now open – and can be made until the closing date of 29 February 2012.

There are twelve categories this year. For domestic building work there is the best domestic extension or conversion (including barn conversions). For new dwellings, there are four categories, best individual dwelling, best small housing site, best large housing site and best social housing site. There’s best small and large commercial development, best education development and best community development. Sustainable construction is encouraged and rewarded with a unique category, and there is a separate category for any development that features unusual or striking technical features (such as structural design or fire safety engineering). And finally there is a category that rewards partnerships operating under the LABC Partnering scheme.

The regional final is dedicated to showcasing the best the construction industry has to offer in the East Midlands. The awards will attract a large audience to a prestigious ceremony. It is a black tie dinner and is a great opportunity to celebrate the working relationship enjoyed by the design and construction team and to reflect on the success of being shortlisted as a finalist.

East Midlands winners celebrate their success

Congratulations to everyone that took part in the brilliant awards night held at the Leicester Marriott Hotel on the 20th May. Guests were captivated by the presenter Lucy Kite and they enjoyed a sumptuous meal courtesy of the team at the hotel. Everyone felt like a winner, enjoying the rewards of their involvement with LABC, and in the knowledge that they produced the best construction and development in the East Midlands. Thanks go to the event sponsors, LABC New Home Warranty, Exova Warrington Fire and Roger Bullivant for their help.
