LABC North West Region

Nominations have now closed for the 2010 Regional Building Excellence Awards. The entries are now being collated and entrants will receive an e-mail confirmation that their nomination is being considered for short-listing. This process takes about a week, and shortly after the nominations will be presented to the judges for them to decide which nominations will go forward as finalists to the regional awards. Look out for an announcement regarding the shortlist on this site, or by signing up to the newsletter.

The award ceremony is to be held on the 14^th May at The Reebok Arena Bolton. Advance tickets can be reserved now, before they go on general sale following the close of nominations.

THE AWARDS

The LABC Building Excellence Awards recognise and reward the best quality construction in the North West. The quality stems from good design and an efficient design team, and is translated into quality buildings by an effective construction team. Throughout this process Local Authority Building Control monitors the quality of design and construction. The finalists will be acknowledged as amongst the best projects in the region.

Nominations can only be made by LABC Building Control Surveyors. This is because each entry must be approved by LABC. It must include an endorsement from the approving authority. If you have a project that you think is worthy of recognition, speak with your LABC surveyor and ask for their endorsement. There is no charge for entering. Nominations are now open – and can be made until the closing date at the end of February.

The regional final is dedicated to showcasing the best the construction industry has to offer in the North West. The awards will attract a large audience to a prestigious ceremony at The Reebok Arena Bolton on 14^th May 2010. It is a black tie dinner. It is a great opportunity to celebrate the working relationship enjoyed by the design and construction team and to reflect on the success of being short listed as a finalist.
