West of England Rules
Nominated schemes must be:
- Completed in the year up to 31 March 2010
- Constructed in the West region - Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire
- Managed and inspected by Local Authority Building Control.
Nominations can be made by anybody involved with the project, from the client to the design or construction team but must be endorsed by an LABC surveyor. Sponsors cannot enter a category they are sponsoring and closing date for entries is midnight on 23 April 2010
A panel of regional judges will evaluate all nominations and the judging will take place at the end of April. The decision of the judging panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The winners and finalists of the awards may state in advertising, promotional material and on their stationery that they are a finalist/winner, but this must make it clear in which category and in which year they were successful.
How to enter
- Read the guidance on the categories page to select the best category for your scheme. You may nominate a scheme for more than one category if it fits the description.
- From the downloads page download the guide to making nominations - this helps you to discover what the judges are looking for from your nomination, which photographs to use and how to use your 750 words wisely.
- You must complete the entry form from the nominations page of this site. You are providing contact details for the architects, contractors, engineers etc involved with the scheme. The organiser will use this information to invite these people to the awards so please enter this information accurately.
Your nomination should include:
- A maximum 750 word statement that details why you believe the scheme is a winner. Think about the good working relationships that you have and how this has helped you and your client achieve a positive outcome. Consider the quality of the build and the willingness of the design/build team to resolve issues and seek pro-active advice. Define what it is that makes this scheme award winning.
- Good quality photographs of the project in jpeg format
- An endorsement from the LABC manager or surveyor involved with the scheme
- Design drawings in pdf format (if you feel they support your nomination).
